Returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years, the 23rd World Petroleum Congress will transform Houston, Texas into the epicenter of the global energy debate from December 5-9, 2021.
Recognized as the energy capital of the world, the host city is home to more than 4,000 energy firms and a hub
of technological innovation and entrepreneurship both within the energy sector and across aligned sectors.
Over the span of five days the Congress will gather together industry and government leaders from across the
world to address all aspects of the industry from technological advances in upstream, midstream, and downstream
operations to the role of natural gas and renewables, management of the industry and its social, economic,
and environmental impact.
With a robust program lineup, unique exhibition, and ample networking opportunities delegates will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and build new connections with over 10,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
With more than 700 expert speakers and presenters from around-the-world, the 23rd WPC offers a platform for open dialogue to address the world’s changing energy landscape. Under the theme of Innovative Energy Solutions, delegates will have the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions, including 8 plenaries, 15 ministerial and 13 strategic sessions, 10 CEO panels, 8 expert workshops and approximately 50 technical forums and roundtables.
The 23rd World Petroleum Congress is expected to draw 250 exhibitors, housed in the largest exhibition space in the history of the Congress (500,000 sq. ft., 50,000 m²) international oil and gas companies; national oil companies; oilfield services companies and suppliers; technology companies; and academia, will showcase their organizations, technologies and innovations on interactive stands. The George R. Brown Convention Center is an international congress and event venue, boasting world-class facilities, experienced staff and high-quality service.
An Exciting Social Program
From an engaging opening reception kicking off the 23rd World Petroleum Congress to USA Night and the prestigious WPC Excellence Awards and Dewhurst Lecture and Award, the Congress will be packed with special events that will celebrate and inspire delegates. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown, the walkable campus will give delegates the opportunity to experience and discover Houston’s bustling culture and entertainment scene, including:
