23rd WPC Health and Safety Initiative
The health and safety of our participants is our number one priority. The 23rd World Petroleum Congress Organizing Committee (WPCOC) is carefully monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as evolving data and guidance from U.S. authorities and international healthcare bodies.
We are closely collaborating with the Congress venue, the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRBCC), to ensure that, together, we are addressing and following the most up-to-date best practices. The GRBCC has added safety measurements within the facility and is currently in the process of completing Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) Star certification, the gold standard in facility preparedness accreditation for potential biohazard risks. The GRBCC and the official hotels are also participating venues in the ‘Houston Clean’ program, an initiative committed to sanitation provisions that mitigate the spread of COVID and instill confidence and hygiene surety at events, venues, and hotels throughout the city.
The WPCOC will make improvements to our operational plans on an on-going basis, enabling us to further serve our delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and partners and host a safe, world-class, global event in December 2021.
